Scream Factory announced a slew of stellar titles for this coming fall but this new deluxe Collector’s Edition of Creepshow takes the birthday cake. The brand new Collector’s Edition of the George Romero and Stephen King cult classic, starring Hal Holbrook, Adrienne Barbeau, Fritz Weaver, Leslie Nielsen, Ted Danson, Ed Harris, and Carrie Nye is expected to arrive just in time for Halloween.

After the Night of the Living Dead series, Romero became a preeminent voice in horror throughout the 1980s, while Stephen King was still riding high as one of the most successful authors of the era. When the two came together in ’82 to craft what many consider to be the best horror anthology film ever, it was a match made in genre heaven.

The label has also confirmed that the upcoming release will be sourced from a brand new remaster of the film and will feature exclusive new bonus features. Final technical specs and bonus feature details are expected to be announced in September.

Additionally, the release will come with a rigid slipcover that will house a Blu-ray case and a collectible booklet, featuring a new essay from Michael Gingold (Fangoria, Rue-Morgue, Dellirium). The newly-commissioned artwork pictured on the slipcase below is from Laz Marquez (Army of Darkness, The Howling and Lifeforce steelbooks).

The response to the exclusive litho & poster offer on Creepshow has obviously gone over well as they have had to increase the number from 1,500 to 2,000. The offer is still expected to sell out very soon so if you’re on the fence, lock in your order now

Five creepy tales are strung together by a framing story involving a young boy being punished by his father for reading the gruesome, titular comic book. “Father’s Day” tells the tale of a family patriarch exacting beyond-the-grave revenge on the daughter who murdered him. In “The Lonesome Death of Jordy Verrill,” a Maine hayseed is overtaken by a meteor-based plant growth. A cuckolded husband exacts watery revenge on his cheating wife and her lover in “Something to Tide You Over.” A hairy beast in a box is used for nefarious purposes at a university in “The Crate.” Finally, in “They’re Creeping Up on You,” a wealthy, arrogant New Yorker with a fear of germs has a disturbing run-in with cockroaches during a blackout.
